Because safety is most important with electrical devices, this multiple power strip is earthed and equipped with a Surge Protection Device (SPD). This is a built-in overvoltage protection that protects the connected deviced, for example, in the event of a lightning strike.

Type J sockets are used in Switzerland. This is a socket for plugs with 3 pins, one of which is an earth pin. This powe strip is suitable for type J plugs. And you can connect it to the power network without a world plug in countries with type J sockets - such as Switzerland - via the socket.
